Week Five - Hurricane Avoided!!

Hey everyone,
This has been a good week. Conference was amazing. And we
avoided the hurricane. I was kinda excited about the hurricane. We got a
text part way through the week saying that we need to go to the store and
get the things needed to survive without power and water. So we went
and got a bunch of bottled water and candles and some food. And then
now it's Monday. The hurricane is supposed to be here. But it's not
even raining. But it has been raining for like the last week straight.
And we have a bunch of candles. So that's kind of a bummer. But hey.
It's nice it has finally stopped raining.
Conference was awesome. I hope you all had the opportunity to
listen in. I loved listening to the talks and the spirit about how I
can better serve the people out here and how I can be a better
missionary. I received answers to both. It was really cool. Those men
are truly inspired by God.
My companion Elder Richards is pretty cool. We have a lot of fun
together. It is cool how in the gospel two people with completely
different personalities can get along and actually be friends. We work
together and have the same goal. And together we are unstoppable.
Something cool I learned about in scripture study this week. When
you want to talk to an old fried or acquaintance what do you do? When
you want to learn something what do you do? When you need help with
someone what do you do? You open your mouth and ask them or talk to
them. You put the effort in first. This is kinda like prayer. You go
before the Lord and ask him. Whenever you need help or want to learn
or anything. If you go before the Lord and ask He will come through
for us.
Prayer is a big part of missionary work. And I know it is
important in life too. Don't be afraid to pray. Heavenly Father is
there and ready to listen and help. I hope everyone has had a great
week.
Love, Elder Bigelow
